National park «Russian Arctic» after a year of epidemiological restrictions has resumed tourist cruises on the North Pole. In the summer season two tours were made from Murmansk to the top of the planet with a visit to the Northern Cluster of the National Park «Russian Arctic» (Franz-Joseph archipelago) and back on the atomic icebreaker «50 years of Victory».

— By mid-August, more than two hundred compatriots had visited the North Pole and the National park «Russian Arctic». Due to ice conditions, there were no landings on the territory of the Russian Arctic National Park during the first voyage. However, from the ship, tourists saw the Rudolph, Bell and Rubini Rock of Hooker Island. On the first voyage, tourists observed four polar bears at a safe distance, «commented Andrey Kunnikov, Deputy Director of Tourism and Environmental Education of the National park «Russian Arctic».

The famous Russian traveller Fyodor Konyukhov became a special guest of the cruise. He has already reached the North Pole three times alone. He made a solo drift at the North Pole, during which he conducted a series of scientific studies for the Institute of Oceanography. P. P. Shirshova and painted.

Fyodora Konyukhova arrived in Murmansk on the second cruise of the atomic icebreaker «50 Years of Victory». During the drift, the ice drifted towards Canada and was at 89 30' latitude north and 110 49' west longitude. As a result, the North Pole was reached twice in one flight, which became its special feature. On the second flight «50 Years of Victory» made a series of landings on the territory of the National park «Russian Arctic», in particular in the legendary bay of Tikhay, where tourists visited the most northern post office in the world and the island of Champa.

— We are happy that tourists return to the Arctic and look forward to visiting the territory of visitors from abroad — summed up Andrei Kunnikov.
