The museum is located in the monument of architecture of the 18-19th centuries, namely "Commercial building with a carriage house", a part of Shingarev-Plotnikov’s merchant’s house.
"Artist of the Eternal Ice" - Alexander Alekseevich Borisov is a world-famous painter, a student of the famous landscape painters Ivan Shishkin and Arkhip Kuindzhi, he was the first polar artist, the founder of artistic exploration of the Arctic, who created monumental images of the Far North using his talent.
At present, the halls “Borisov's Foreign Travels” and “Workshop in Krasnoborsk” are open to visit, as well as the hall “Nenets Decorative and Applied Art”, dedicated to the culture and art of the Nenets people.
Museum of Artistic Exploration of the Arctic in the name of A. A. Borisov invites you to visit the mysterious world of the Arctic with twinkling stars, northern lights, snowstorm, to see the old maps and Arctic sketches.
