Podvoriye of the Solovetskiy monastery is historically linked to the foundation of Arkhangelsk and the time of its building can be referred as the end of the 16th – to the beginning of the 17th centuries. In 1851-1853 the stone building at the Bankovskiy alley was erected. By 1865 the building “on the cellars” was built and attached from the east to the stone building of the household services. The church named after the reverends Zosima, Savvatiy and Herman on the Solovetskoye Podvoriye was consecrated on the 17th of September 1898.In the summer of 1920 the Solovetskoye Podvoriye was closed and nationalized. On the 6th of October 1922 the church services in the temple were stopped. Podvoriye of the Solovetskiy monastery started to function in October 1992 with the blessing of the Patriarch Alexy II.
There was one more Podvoriye of the Solovetskiy monastery in Solombala, Arkhangelsk. The podvoriye attendants directed the santeros to Solovki.
On foot or by bus. From the railway station-bus #54 to the bus stop Pomorskaya Street; from the airport “Talagi” to the River-boat station – bus # 12. You can also get to the River-boat station and to walk on foot along the embankment to the podvoriye.
To visit the church women should wear a long skirt and cover their head with a shawl .Men should take off their hats, approaching the church. You mustn’t make any noise and you must turn off the mobile phones.
