The centre of folk crafts “Bereginya” is the production centre specializing in creating the clay toys and birch bark items. The aim of creating the centre is supporting and developing the traditions of Kargopol crafts.

Kargopol has always been famous for its clay toys not only in Russia, but abroad, too.
The history of its origin is closely connected with the ancient (pagan) rituals. The empoyees of the centre of folk crafts “Bereginya” are proud of the established traditions.
In this centre you can get acquainted with the traditional northern crafts - the birch bark weaving, creating the bird of happiness, patchwork, the folk rag doll, creating clay toys.
