The village Cherevkovo is the old craft and trade center, which is located in 50 km from the district center Krasnoborsk.
Once wealth and trading village has preserved its historical appearance to our days. The visitors are delighted with the complex of shops and barns, warehouses, the houses of the trading peasants Gusevs and Pirogovs, dating the late XIX — early XX centuries.
In the village, the stone Troitskaya church (XVIII) and the church named after a priest Peter Cherevkovsky (XVII) have been partially preserved. The priest died defending the village from the raid of the Polish-Lithuanian conquerors during the Time of Troubless. Afterwards, he was canonized.
Krasnoborskii district is famous by a local painting. Here, on the area around the village Cherevkovo, the famous Rakulskaya painting was rooted. Also, Cherevkovo was a center of gold embroidery and ceramics production.
Next to the village there is a river Ludonga. Here, by the road visitors can see a local attraction — a cedar garden, planted by the peasant Fedor Stepanovich Mokeev in 1888.
In 2019, Cherevkovo celebrated 500 years anniversary, and in October 2020, the village was included to the Russian Association of the most beautiful villages and towns.
